Iran-China Cultural ties to be boosted

“The activities carried out in Shanghai Islamic Center are in accordance with the moderate and rational interpretation of Islam.” said Hujjat al-Islam Mahdavi.

 Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Vice Chairman of Al-Mustafa International University Hujjat al-Islam Mahdavi Mehr received members of Shanghai Islamic Center of China in Qom on Tuesday, July 25 and introduced them to different parts of the university as well as their ongoing cultural activities.

 

Pointing out the plan proposed by Iranian and Chinese officials to re-establish the ancient Silk Road in order to boost economic, social and cultural interactions between the neighboring countries, Hujjat al-Islam Mahdavi asserted, “We hope that establishing this great economic belt paves the way for expanding cultural cooperation between Al-Mustafa International University and the Shanghai Islamic Center.”

 

Highlighting the great position of Shanghai in China, the Iranian cleric underlined the distinguished influence of Shanghai Islamic Center saying, “The activities carried out in Shanghai Islamic Center are in accordance with the moderate and rational interpretation of Islam.”

 

Imam Mousa, Head of the Islamic Center of Shanghai, also expressed his happiness for visiting Al-Mustafa International University and becoming familiar with their ongoing activities; “Fortunately, the cultural ties between Iran and China are deepening and the plan called ‘One Belt and One Road’, which is intended to connect China to the world, could help develop religious and cultural interactions between the two ancient civilizations of Iran and China,” Imam Mousa remarked.
